ABSENCE

No remission of fees will be made for periods of absence including exam fees.

Twenty four hours notice must be given for all private lessons otherwise a full charge will be made.

Parents are to notify the school of an absence that wil last more than two weeks, as we will assume you will have left if you fail to attend for three consecutive weeks, and then may make your place availble to another child.

UNIFORM

The wearing of appropriate uniform is compulsory and pupils are expected to take pride in thier apperance. There is a set uniform for each class and this uniform is avaible from Harlequin reception. Please ensure your child is correctly attired with their hair tied off thier face and shoulders, if possible. Ballet shoes must have elastic or ribbons on, dependant on which grade your child is in, as valuable lesson time is spent putting them back on thier feet when they slip off. For safety reasons NO jewellery is allowed, except stud earrings.

LATENESS

If your child is late for a class please wait for an appropriate time in the class to send them in. Please do not sent them in whilst an exercise is being carried out as it distracts the pupils who are allready in the class.

OBSERVING CLASSES

You will be given the opportunity to watch your child's lessons at the end of the christmas and summer term. At all other times there is a television screen for you to watch your child's lessons. Please do not stand at the studio doors as this distracts children in the class.

UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN

Children when attending dance classes at Harlequin Stage School are covered by our comprehensive specialist insurance whilst in the dance studios, however when children are in the changing room, waiting room, coffee bar etc, they are covered by Perdiswell Young People's leisure clubs' Public Liability insurance.

Harlequin Stage School accepts no responsibility for any children left unaccompanied. We are happy for children to be left unaccompanied, but from January 2005 these children must be signed in and out in a book on the desk. Parents must realise that when Janet or Nikki are manning the desk they are happy to "keep an eye on"  any left children but they accept no resposibilities for them.

NEW PUPILS

New pupils will only be accepted at the begining of each half term with the intention that there will be no distractions to other pupils
